Public Facing Description

Through the skillful understanding of branding, place-making and the architecture of interior design, QA was proud to successfully develop innovative and exciting ways to visually exhibit the private collection of work and artists for the Bill Graham Presents and Live Nation SF Headquarters. The myriad of original artwork, photography, posters and collectible memorabilia are the backbone of the design that received an AIA Interior Design Award. The richness of character and a spirit of place connects employees, users, visitors and artists alike through the thoughtful deployment of archival media. The extensive curating and categorizing by QA designers uncovered priceless assets and exhibit-worthy collections of historic BGP material. QA looked within the nature of the entertainment icon to create a truly unique graphic experience throughout.

Internal Project Description:

The scope of work for BGP HQ included curating their large, undocumented Rock Art and memorabilia collection. BGP had just been aquired b Ticketmaster so the client structure was complex and the project acheived LEED Silver and won an AIASF Award for Design.

AIA "Excellence in Interior Design" Award, Adaptive Reuse in SOMA, LEED CI - Silver Certified

Bill Graham Presents was an institution in the 70's San Francisco Music scene, having risen to popularity promoting concerts for the Grateful Dead, Jimmy Hendrix, and many other icons of rock. With a priceless music memorabilia collection, the office space was designed as a gallery to exhibit all of the historic photos and concert posters while also housing the SF Headquarters for Live Nation. The original warehouse loft feel was kept by exposing the ceiling trusses and keeping the original concrete flooring and every exposed wall exhibit different art collections including everything for original photos of the Grateful Dead to psychedelic concert posters for the 1960's and 70's. With splayed floating walls and bright colors reminiscent of the art that is displayed, the space is a nice compliment of art and architecture.

Through the skillful understanding of branding, place-making and the architecture of interior design, QA was proud to successfully develop innovative and exciting ways to visually exhibit the private collection of work and artists that have come to be identified by Bill Graph Presents and Live Nation.
