Quezada Architecture, a multi-disciplinary, women- and minority-owned boutique design firm with offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles, is currently seeking qualified candidates to join our diverse and talented team. Design / Project Architect

This position is for someone with single-family residential design experience who has strong design skills, can take a project from Concept through CA, and can put together a fully coordinated CD set. Experience in other sectors such as commercial workplace and hospitality is a plus, but a modern design sensibility is a must. This is a key position in our firm where you will be collaborating on the design, documentation, and consultant coordination on a wide array of project types.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited Architecture Program.

Experience
8+ years of related experience working in an architectural design office.

Qualifications, Skills & Software
Must be able to initiate and create technical drawings for the SD, DD and CD phases of project documentation. Licensed Architect a big plus.

Required software proficiency:

• Revit 2022 (High level of aptitude mandatory)
• AutoCAD 2022
• Sketch-Up
• Bluebeam
• MS Office Suite

Responsibilities
• Collaborate with team in the concept phase to develop the approach to the project
• Manage and organize isolated tasks for larger projects
• Manage and coordinate sub-consultants drawings w/ architectural design
• QA/QC review and implementation
• Code and Zoning review
• Clash detection and manage efforts for Design/Build trades
• Manage and prepare technical documentation of projects
• Collaborate with other staff on workflow optimization between technical drawings and 3D visualizations
• Develop details
• Prepare client presentations and attend client meetings
• Prepare and issue Bid Documents
• Prepare Permits Sets
• Mentor junior staff
• Keep current with software upgrades
• Assist in Construction Administration

Job Captain / Intermediate Designer

This position requires an individual who is competent in the design and technical fundamentals of architecture and interior architecture. Under the supervision of senior staff, this person will collaborate on design, documentation, and consultant coordination. As this is an extremely rich period for career growth, we are looking for an individual who is both comfortable asking for guidance and proactive in their professional growth. Experience in Healthcare and Hospital design desirable but not mandatory. We are looking to fill several positions.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited Architecture Program.

Experience 
3-7 years of related experience working in a design office.

Qualifications, Skills & Software

Use 3D visualizations and conventional architectural drawings to convey these ideas to clients and builders
Contribute to and helping maintain CAD/BIM library organization
Help with preparation of project presentation materials such as boards and presentation books
Follow standards established by global and local technology committees
Prepare technical documentation of projects
File project correspondence and drawings as required
Collaborate with other staff on workflow optimization between technical drawings and 3D visualizations
Keep current with software upgrades
Attend client presentations 
Prepare and issue Bid Documents
Assist Senior Designer through Construction Administration

General Requirements

Work is currently being performed in a hybrid mode with 3 days in office and 2 days remote if located in San Francisco. Los Angeles employees have the option to work in our Factory Place office and attend bi-monthly collaborative sessions with the rest of the LA team as it grows. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
