The design of the Xuhui Southern Medical Center was completed as a paid invitational competition with 4 other international renowned healthcare architecture firms. The scope for this 5.8 Hectares project included a General Hospital, Mental Health Center, Scientific Research Building, Medical Offices buildings as well as staff accommodations. The design of the hospital is anchored by 3 twisting towers with an option to add an additional twisting tower in a later phase. One of the unique features of the facility is a full roof top garden accessible by all as the site was home to botanical gardens thus allowing the gardens to remain as part of the built environment and a beautiful respit for both patients and healthcare professionals.
